- For disconnects, set to $r1 not the default of $r0. You won't get disconnects
- after 12 retransmits. This made a noticable difference here. As for trash
- when connecting, I get several modems a day confused. I have 300+ 1432MR's
- and 300+ 2834 MR's. Happens to both of them. We get about 25,000 calls a day
- and have no way of knowing what causes the problem. I have tried to
- duplicate it with a variety of modems but could not. The Modem Manager is
- set to configure after disconnect, but some still get confused. We have
- a perl program that checks our security server for lines that haven't
- had a user on them in x hours. Our hunt group is UCD so we know all lines
- should be used. I them manually call the bad lines on the report and
- verify they are putting out garbage or are stuck in a Ring No Answer
- state. A simple reset and reconfiguration fixes it. With the SNMP function
- of MMM I now do it all from my office. Hope this helps some.
